I provide math tutoring for middle and high school students in Marin County, with a focus on building understanding, confidence, and independence. I work with students who feel stuck, rushed, or overwhelmed in class and need a slower, more thoughtful approach to math.

I support students in:

  • Basic math foundations
  • Pre-Algebra
  • Algebra I and Algebra II
  • Geometry

Sessions are tailored to each student’s pace and learning style, whether they need help catching up, preparing for a test, or rebuilding confidence after a difficult year.

How I Help Students Learn Math

Many students struggle in math not because they lack ability, but because gaps in earlier skills make new material feel confusing. I focus on:

  • breaking problems into clear, manageable steps
  • helping students understand why methods work
  • reinforcing patterns instead of memorizing rules
  • building confidence through guided practice

I work with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who need help strengthening foundational skills and preparing for the transition into high school math, as well as high school students working through Algebra and Geometry.

This approach is especially effective for students who feel anxious, discouraged, or behind.

Experience & Teaching Style

I have over 20 years of experience working with students at different ability levels. I began tutoring at the College of Marin after a classmate in an Algebra class suggested that I become a tutor. Since then, I have continued helping students with foundational math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry.

I work patiently and collaboratively, adjusting each session based on what the student needs that day — not a preset program or script.
